JWEF was conceptualised in 2008 by Emlyon Business School and KPMG, along with more collaborators such as ACE Action Community for Entrepreneurship, Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), Onlylyon and Zhejiang University. Since 2008, JWEF events have been held around the world, from Europe, Asia & Oceania to South America.
